    No.

I’m not going through this.  Not again.  I won’t.  I love working on Harper’s Globe, and I love building this community, but no, sorry, that’s it for me.

I’m done.  I’m out of here.

    Bye…

I’m done. I’m out of here.

A Warning...

Daily Post - 7 of 9

The second date went well. A night walk, roses, a candle lit dinner and a surprise; Brent’s surprise to Robin. It turned out better than she thought, better than she imagined.

And so she told us about it.

Robin and Brent went skinnydipping. It was an exciting and scary new adventure for her. She felt safe with him. But was she?

After posting her video confession, an ominous comment showed up from a user named “Cheshire Cat”. Robin tried to brush him off, but Cheshire Cat would not allow it.

Young love blooms on Harper’s Island. But danger may not be far behind…

This week’s Call To Action (CTA) was to make a video about the one object you would bring to Harper’s Island, if you had to leave in a hurry. Robin brought her necklace, what would you bring?

We received many great submissions, which can be viewed by going to the CTA: Your Most Important Object discussion. Today we are highlighting user 11’s video, who made the sensible choice to bring his video camera to Harper’s Globe. Spoken by a true video blogger!

Here is your next CTA: Brent told Robin he had a surprise for her on their second date. We want to know what the biggest surprise you ever received on a date was.

To submit the content, simply post the video to your profile, and then flag it as “Cool”. Also, make sure to announce your upload in the CTA: Your Biggest Date Surprise Forum, so that everyone can enjoy your work. Your deadline is Monday 3/30 @ 7pm PST.

Good luck and good shooting, we look forward to hearing and seeing what you have to say!

Letting Go Of Death

...Sparky says some questions are better left unanswered, especially when it comes to John Wakefield.

I like what I do.  And I still feel truly lucky to have this opportunity.  So I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but I’m sitting here in the office, working on the archives, and all I want to do is leave.  Just escape these four walls.  Because when I leave, I get to see Brent.  He’s cooking me dinner tonight.  And as much fun as the Social Networking is (and it IS fun), there’s a lot to be said for getting dressed up and being wined and dined.

I do feel a little callous working on the Wakefield articles and thinking such sweet, positive things, instead of taking these articles as seriously as they deserve to be taken, but I just can’t help it.  I want to focus on my work. I really do.  I want to do amazing work and impress the world.  I’m just asking, can I do all that… tomorrow?  Because today I just want to think about tonight.

Brent said he had a surprise for me.  Which is great, except now I just have one more thing to distract me from my work.  A word of advice: never tell someone with an active imagination that you have a surprise for them.  They’ll just spend the entire day thinking up possibilities (crazy possibilities).  Not that I’ve been doing that.  At all.  Except by “at all”, I actually mean, “completely doing just that”.

OK… I’m gonna stop typing before I make myself sound even more like a slacker (I promise I’m working hard, Hometown Press!).  And I’m going to stop trying to figure out the surprise, because I am a good employee, with much work to do, and my total focus is required.  Fun must wait.

…Of course, that doesn’t mean someone else couldn’t think about it for me, right?  If you have a minute, and have an idea of what Brent’s surprise might be, post in the comments; maybe if you do, than I could finally focus.

...I still feel truly lucky to have this opportunity. So I don’t want to sound ungrateful, but I’m sitting here in the office, working on the archives, and all I want to do is leave. Just escape these four walls...
