When we see Cody move at the end of the video it sounds like he says Brook.

    Danny Brooks?
  • Hi Mark,

How does no alcohol explain high school? Or grade school? Or summer camp? Or work before I was of a drinking age? Or work when I was of a drinking age, but hey, we were at work, not out hanging together? Sports teams? During all those times I was active in lots of different activities, on teams, all that. I was never picked on, but I sure as heck did not fit in...   And, it doesn't explain the occasions that I chose to drink, where things were the same anyways.

Nope, there's definitely not a firm co-relation there. Maybe it frequently helps, but it's definitely not a given that looks = popularity.

Things that I think have far more of an impact:   confidence, which can be expressed in a lot of visible ways (clothes, way of walking, attitude, willingness to engage others, etc.).

And lastly - Canadian. University is a theoretical school, College is a practical school (I think you guys call it vocational or something?). Writers go to university, Nurses go to college.
  • You mean there's a drinking age in Canada?!? I thought beer was given to infants!. lol
Certainly looks alone don't guarantee popularity, but they don't hurt either

Universitiy and college are used interchangeably here. You would say, "I went to college." even if you attended The University of Chicago.
Your "practical school" might be a junior college or perhaps  a technical school where it doesn't take 4 years to complete your field of study. "Theoretical school" for a university is a new one on me. I've learned something new about our neighbor to the north, and I have Harper's Island and Steve to thank for it!

Now stop talking to us cool people, outsider! (Just Kidding! LOL)

I love how they incorporate bits of Harper's Island into this show as well.  It makes it more interesting.
  • so is cody dw?
  • I don't think so Higgins. I remember reading somwhere that the admin said we hadn't seen DW's face yet.

I want you all to know what happened that night…

My fist attempt at a CAP. I finally found one I can sort of relate to so I figured I'd give it a shot :)

    Hiding in Plain Sight...

Well, being a college student and athlete I don’t really have much time to play Hide and Seek. My days usually consist of sleeping in; rushing to class, working out, and doing homework… you know all the “fun” things in life. Eventually though, juggling all that gets to me, and I have to retreat to my not so secret hiding spot.

My hiding spot is beautiful because it’s hidden in plain sight. My secret spot is a small public park across a street and canal from my dorm. Even though I could drive there, I take my secret entrance; a large unpaved path that takes you over the canal, through some trees, and lets you out at the unkempt remnants of a baseball field.

It’s here that I find a place to relieve all the stresses of daily life. The only thing I bring with me to my hiding spot is my old baseball batting bag filled with old baseballs, a bat, and occasionally a friend if I don’t feel like pitching the balls to myself. It’s amazing what whacking a ball out of the park will do to calm you down...

After I’ve tired myself out with batting, I just sit on the rusting dilapidated bleachers listening to the breeze blowing through the trees, smelling the fresh air, and watching the sunset. I can’t think of a better hiding spot.

Hanging with Waldo, camouflaging yourself with clothes, underneath the mess on your bedroom floor, in Abby’s never used hotel room; you all found some great places to hide. If the submissions for the ‘Where Do You Go To Hide’ CTA are any indication, you could all be champion Hide and Seekers, if only there was a league for that. Maybe you should be giving Robin some tips, she sure could use them.

Congratulations to user Jay, for his wonderfully descriptive look at hiding in plain sight. You can read his blog above. Jay, please send us a PM with your contact information so we can send you your shirt and special prop prize.

Here is your new Call To Action: Death is at Robin’s door. Mystery surrounds her. Fear overwhelms her. Now is the perfect time to write about her unfortunate stay on Harper’s Island.

Write a poem about Robin’s time on the Island, using the style of your choosing. Limerick, sonnet, free verse, slam, haiku, Shel Silverstein, all styles of poetry are open to you, though please, try to keep it clean.

Your deadline is 12pm PST on Monday, June 22nd. The chosen poem will win the user a free Harper’s Globe t-shirt and a special prop from the show: several beach balls from the infamous Frat Party.

To submit, simply post your CAP to your profile, and then flag it as “Cool”. Also, make sure to announce your upload in the CAP: Harper’s Globe Poetry Jam Forum, so that everyone can enjoy your work.

Good Rhyming, Harpies!
